Need someone to help me with my resume layout + advice on cover letter

This is just a quick project. 1. I need to update and optimize (shorten / focus) my resume for a specific job. I already have an old resume and I need to to make sure my resume stands out. no need for flashy graphics, it just needs to be updated. I would expect an output of google docs so I can edit them for other purposes. 2. We also need to discuss how I can write a great cover letter and you can make some recommendations. You should be able to review my cover and give me advice on it. I just need tips, I will write it myself.
