Hello Kate Greetings from the United Kingdom. This is the kind of project I'd love to get my teeth into and I think its something I can do fairly efficiently in a short time frame. We'll be approaching the problem from a combination and VBA macro's - sometimes the best policy is doing a bit of both and we'll be able to create some forms where you choose from the server the 'Spreadsheet A' and the 'Spreadsheet B' effectively then press a SUBMIT button where all the rules you described are applied.
