Hello. I am working with ipsec tunnels more than 8 years (pix501, pix525, asa5505, asa5520, different cisco routers and mikrotiks). For checking the connectivity we should be sure that there nat is working ( or disabled by nat 0 command) for this networks . Also we should check the security levels of the interfaces and check access-lists. To make the new vpn connection we should make nat translation, build acl which point to the needed traffic to encrypt,create crypto map or add new rules into existing map and do almost the same things on the other side of ipsec tunnel. Need the 50% milestone to start work. Cheers!

Hi netconnectbvi, For the first scenario you have mentioned (assuming site-to-site VPN) please check the outgoing interface accesslists. I suppose traffic is not being allowed from datacentre (out interface) to office (in interface). Config of both the sides is required. For pinging firstly check if the same is enabled inspect ICMP. ASA has everything denied by default you need to enable ICMP requests to wherever you want. For the new VPN to be built config of both the sides is required as identical configuration on both the sides is done. Rest NAT is not an issue. As you have said that it would take less than an hour, friend 1 hour will be required to just learn your network, but yes for configuration it will take less than an hour.
