Functional specifications
‘Twinkles Images’
We will have a table with fields:
Shutt_nr number of Shutterstock image
Picture_code image code
EN same text in English
DU text in Dutch
FR same text in French
GE same text in German
SP same text in Spanish
PO same text in Portuguese
We have 400 pictures and 400 little texts, each of these texts in several languages. We will let the English little texts be manually incorporated within the pictures. We have made a sample (10) of these texts+pictures in ppt, as well as a Word document with the same sample of 10 texts in different languages. You find this sample at: [login to view URL] We have chosen ppt, but another format may be used according to your advice as to easy it is to put texts within images and to manually format the images somewhat in a nice way, as well as in order to make the following possible.
We want software that does the following [here starts your job]:
• Look into table . Now this table is in the Word doc; you can save it into a txt file or a database format such as Access.
• Take the next record of this table, beginning with the first of course.
• Take the ppt (or other file format) with the Shutt_nr – field within its name after ‘shutterstock_’ and before another ‘_’. (you will clearly see this in the sample)
• Take the content (text string) of field ‘DU’ and put it in place of the English string that is present within the picture. Of course using the same text pitch and style as the English string.
• Put this picture (containing the DU string now) within the ppt, at the second page of that file.
• [NOTE: we have now a 2-page ppt containing twice the same picture, one with English text, one with Dutch text put at the same place within the picture.]
• Do the same with the other languages, towards a ppt with always the same picture and a different language at each page. At this moment, we have 6 languages; there will be more in the future.
• Take the next record of the table and do the same, etc, until end of table.
• [NOTE: at the end, we have all ppts containing several pages, with each page containing the appropriate image+text.]
In addition to this, we want another software program that transforms all these ppt-pictures in one go (batch processing) towards jpg-pictures, giving names made by the content of field Picture_code + ‘_EN’ for English, ‘_DU’ for Dutch, etc. E.g. the first image with English text has to be called ‘[login to view URL]’. All jpg-pictures have to have the same resolution (note that the shutterstock images to start with may have different resolutions).
We have for this project a max. budget of +/- $350.
