**ASHLAR MASON LTD Business System Requirements**
This document sets out the requirements for an improved IT system to serve the business needs of Ashlar Mason, a specialist supplier of granite, marble and limestone.
**TOP LEVEL REQUIREMENTS
**Currently, the preparation of customer quotations and invoices is carried out through the use of Excel spreadsheets which link to a further spreadsheet file containing customer details. This by its nature is a single-user system. All other business functions such as purchasing, stock control and invoice chasing are carried out on paper. Thus the requirement can be summarised as a multi-user system that provides these functions:
· Order entry ??" for recording customer orders and generating customer quotations
· Sales Ledger ??" for recording sales and generating customer invoices, and providing debtor reports
· Job control ??" for scheduling workshop activity (cutting and polishing etc.) and on-site templating and fitting work
· Purchase Ledger ??" for recording orders made to suppliers, and providing creditor reports
· Stock control ??" for managing stocks of materialsThe ledgers would necessarily incorporate a database of customers and suppliers.
