I write a sports blog on a free platform (Blogger), but I want to increase its legitimacy and flexibility by moving it to a separate platform. However, I'm not extremely technically savvy, so I need help designing backgrounds, banners, drop-down menus, etc. I'm not looking for someone to maintain the website, so I'm hoping for a simple enough platform to be able to maintain it myself after its initial design and some helpful pointers by someone smarter than I am. ^_^ I would suggest WordPress. Its most customizable and very easy to edit and you will be able to add functionality yourself by adding "plugins". Plugins are ready to use piece of code which you can download freely within WordPress itself! I am very good with WordPress and I can do design and theme coding both for WordPress.
