Application to ''save changes'' and ''upload'' online documents

We need to develop an application that works on a website and does the following functions. This is part of a bigger online system, but this is an important part. We are not sure if it is possible, or how you do it, which is why we are requesting information and bids on RAC: 1. A user logs into our system (online). 2. The user clicks on link of a document (Word / Excel etc) that resides on a server. 2. That document opens inline - i.e. it opens in a new window using MS Word/Excel plug-in. 3. There would be two frames in the new window - top frame has the following buttons: - SAVE CHANGES - NO CHANGES - PRINT This would be a very thin frame at top of screen. Second frame would load the Word plug-in and open document that they have clicked on. 4. If user makes changes to document, they click on SAVE CHANGES button in top frame. Clicking this button should do following: - automatically upload the "new document" to the server - "lock away" original version of the document thus allowing to version control The aim is user does not have to "download" document, save it to computer, make changes then upload the document. Having the "SAVE CHANGES" button should do all of this for them. 5. If the user clicks on NO CHANGES, nothing happens. It just closes the document 6. If the user clicks on "PRINT", it opens the print dialog box. Other things to note: - when a user clicks on the link of the document and it opens it in a new window, this should "CHECK OUT" the document, so that another user cannot also click on the document and make changes at the same time Cheers, Lee ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Whatever you recommend.
