This should be an entertaining diversion for a thoughtful person who enjoys tracking down information. Please be a legal adult who is comfortable with mature content and alternative lifestyle sites. I need a researcher (not an automated site scraper) to mine the data from a collection of about five to ten community-specific source websites I will specify, and from search engines. You will need to verify the accuracy of the information, and compile it intelligently into a simple relational database. There may be a total of about 500-1,000 records once the database is complete. Each record will fit into a category such as: * Events with schedule information * Clubs and Organizations * Private Businesses categorized by type * Nonprofit Organizations Each record will need to include all listed details a well as as contact information and the freshest available description; ideally from the organization's own website. The information on each of the the community-specific directory sites I will provide you with overlaps and does not always agree. Some of the information is out of date. I need a human being to gather all the information from these sites, add to it with relevant information from search engines, eliminate expired information and duplications, confirm the accuracy of each record against the originating websites, and enter it into a comprehensive database. ## Deliverables A typical source site will have a basic navigation menu with categories for events, businesses, groups and organizations, etc. Sometimes it will be necessary to navigate these directories city by city to find all the information. These listings are informal advertisements. Representatives post their own details directly. They often leave out a lot of critical information. Frequently these listings are not updated regularly. However, there is usually a link to a main website where you can verify the accuracy of the listing, and find the details that are missing. The data will be added to a private relational database which will reside on my server. Unique identifiers, foreign keys for associations, and normalized cross-table relationships are mandatory. I have attached a document describing a proposed schema for this database. Each record must be complete, and free of typographical and spelling errors. I imagine having things broken down like this: * GROUPS: * - UID * - Group Name * - Description * - Type (Social, Political, Religious, Sports, etc.) * - Primary Contact * - Election Dates * - Current President * - Membership * - Logo Artwork * - Nonprofit Status <!-- --> * EVENTS: * - UID * - Event Name * - Description * - Start Date * - End Date * - Reservation Deadline * - Primary Contact * - Projected Attendance * - Logo Artwork * - Nonprofit Status <!-- --> * BUSINESSES: * - UID * - Business Name * - Description * - Type (Bar, Restaurant, Lodging, Bath, Clinic, Shop, etc.) * - Primary Contact * - Logo Artwork * - Nonprofit Status <!-- --> * ADDRESSES: * - UID * - Mailing Address * - City * - State * - Zip * - Country * - Telephone * - Email * - Website Each Group, Business, and Event will be referenced by a unique identifier, and that identifier will be used to cross-link each entry to all of its associated Addresses, Events, Groups, and Businesses: * ADDRESSINGS: * - Event, Group, or Business UID * - Address UID * - Type (Event, Group, or Business) <!-- --> * SPONSORSHIPS: * - Group UID * - Event UID <!-- --> * HOSTINGS: * - Business UID * - Event UID <!-- --> * RELATIONSHIPS: * - Group UID * - Business UID I will create a simple Excel spreadsheet for you to fill in, and put in what I have for the first 180 or so records. They are not complete, and getting the rest of the information for these first records is part of the project. As I said, I do not think there will be more than 1,000 records all together. Each record in the spreadsheet will be one business, club, or event, with all the relevant details. (I can split them up into a database myself later.) I will also want a logo for each record downloaded from their own website, and named with the unique number of the record it goes with. Strict confidentiality must be maintained. This information, and the details of this project, may not be disclosed or distributed to anyone other than myself. All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform I want to end up with a normalized and complete web-based MySQL database of information.
