dj vu viewer & .NET

This will be a 2 part project for the selected contractor. This project is only to provide me with relevant information in relation to the "dj vu" technology and answer various relevant questions. The second project will be posted as a separate bid for the specfic contractor that has been selected and he/she will be responsible for implementing the actual larger part of this project. NOTE: Do not apply for either projects unless you are 100% prolific with "dj vu" technology as this will be the core part of the project. Thanks. T. ## Deliverables Now, the project: 1. Are you familiar with "DJ View" technology. If not, do not apply!! 2. Do you require a development kit? If so, can you please provide as much details what is required, what language does it support, are they costs involved? 3. Is "DJ View" technology a royaltee free technology or does it require some sort of distribution license. If so, can you elaborate in as much details as possible. 4. Can you create a "DJ View" viewer in the form of a user control of some sort that will be useable in a .NET environment or can you create a component that can then be integrated in a form or userform in .NET 5. Can you write the viewer in C# or VB.NET (C# preferred but VB.NET is also acceptable). If it cannot be written in either, I will consider C++ but this is definitely my language of choice as we're not familiar with it. 6. Assuming that you can do this viewer, are there options such as zoom in, zoom out, fit to width, fit to height, fit to viewer, rotate left/right by 90,180, 360 degrees, etc... These will need to be provided as properties or ? functions where appropriate so that these can be controlled via buttons available in our application. 7. Are there any other options? Please list what settings can be used by the viewer and we can decided on additional ones if needed. 8. Printing: Printing is obviously a must and again you should provide 2 methods (if possible) to print: ? ? ? ? a. Print without a dialog box where printer settings are provided - we will want to use our own custom dialog box which means you will need to provide all necessary settings such as printer name, (port &? address), collate, copies, etc... ? ? ? ? b. Print using a standard print dialog box. 9. I think the above describes enough on what I need to achieve in relation to the viewer but now the other part I'm uncertain about is what kind of files are required by DJ Vu Viewer? Are they Tiff with a specific compression, or other? Please provide as much information as to what kind of files it can display & supports. 10. How do you convert files to "DJ Vu" standard assuming you need to convert them. Our application can scan documents as TIFF (G4), Scanned PDF & JPG and some other formats but these being the main ones and these can be in black & white or color. If conversion is needed from lets say TIFF to "DJ VU" format, then ideally again assuming .NET is supported, an assembly providing the "Helper" functions will be required, so when called from .NET, we'll end up with something like [login to view URL](<sourcefile>, <target file>) and while not displayed here, it will need (if needed) to provide additional parameters such as compression, color, etc... If multiple helper functions are needed, so be it. I would like to keep this as simple as possible so ideally one function should be like the one above and it will know how to convert to a "DJ Vu" file using if needed the source file information. In other words, if an image is b&w, it should leave it in b&w, if in color at 300dpi, it should leave it as color and 300dpi but other options could be provided to for example changed the compression, the dpi, the width, the height but this would really be a bonus as the main thing is to keep the original image but convert it to dj vu. I hope I have covered everything but I have left out anything important, let me know. As this project is only informative and does not require development, please keep it the quotes reasonably cheap as I'm not looking for a book but "to the point" information. Again I can't emphasise enough that you should not apply for this unless you a) have "DJ Vu" knowledge and b) you are sure that you will be able to achieve these tasks. Once I get all the proposal, I will sit down with the rest of my partners and we will decide where to take it from there. While you will not be held to the provided quote, can you also give me a rough estimate on time & cost. Time as, how long do you believe (estimate!)? this project will take to achieve based on the above information and cost as, how much do you believe (estimate!!) you will charge to implement such a project. If the above can be achieved, it will need to be of a top quality as this will be distributed with our application and therefore we cannot afford to have a flacky, feature poor component viewer and conversion. Finally, can you please provide me with as much details as possible on the type of support you provide and will be providing and again, cost, response time, etc.... Regards, Thierry
