Build an iPhone application

Key points • I am looking for someone with an excellent grasp of English – preferably a native speaker. • All names and terms used are not set – they are for the purposes of the brief. • I am looking for someone to help build the idea/mechanics/functionality as well as the app. Premise To create a smartphone application that updates/pushes the most read/trending articles that day in a given category to the user. Opportunity With the ever increasing role of smartphones in people’s ever busy lives, the is an opportunity to capitalise on the efficiency that people need in order to read only what they are interested in. Mechanics A user sets up a simple account. The user will then sign up to ‘categories of interest’, similar to subreddits or following someone on Twitter. For example: the user may select Technology, UK Politics and Drinks as their three interests. The app will then ‘search’ for the top ‘trending/read’ articles in these three categories at that given moment. The articles will be presented in the app for reading and also pushed to the lock screen. They may see for example an article on SpaceX from the BBC website, an article on Brexit from Daily Mail and an article on wine from Drinks Business. The user has the option to read by clicking or swiping left and right. Left swipe will effectively ‘bin’ the category for the day and right swipe will bring up the next most trending/read article in the category. Other Mechanics • Summary of articles with read more… function • Ability to link through to website where article is pulled • Possibility of adding as many categories as you like • Multiple times a day if you want to set it • Automatic article pings if breaking news in your chosen category • All articles to be pulled automatically through ?clever algorithm?
