Simple project, probably using OpenCV and/or SimpleCV (but that's up to you). I need a simple app which will monitor the forward facing camera in an Android phone, detect an infra red spot, track it's position and use this to control the cursor for position and 'click'. That's it. Quick turnaround needed.

Me wrote can good program, sir! But seriously, can Android cameras even detect infra-red? Assuming they can, where does one obtain IR pens or pointers? (I see DIY plans on net but that seems a bit much.) Will a cheap laser pointer work for testing this on my androids? If so, please read on ...
