I want a hardware designer to create a hardware circuit that controls the flow of salt and pepper. The typical scenario is like this: 1. Circuit gets a command from external (Bluetooth) source to let the salt or pepper flow for a specific amount of time. 2. Circuit opens up the actuator (solenoid? to be discussed) to let salt or pepper fall by the effect of gravity for a specific amount of time. Salt or pepper could be saved in some sort of a pipe or a box (to be discussed) 3. Circuit closes the actuator to stop the flow after a certain time. The circuit has to be as small as possible. Using Arduino is recommended but not a must. If you have some other ideas, please let me know. The actuator -I mean that thing that will control the flow of the salt/pepper- has to be small and cheap. I will choose you for this project if: 1. You send me a private message indicating which board you will use for prototyping (Arduino Uno, ... etc), bluetooth shield, and the type of the actuator you will use, its price and a link to where to buy online. 2. We discuss the timeline and some other more details. 3. Once we agree, I grant you the project. Deliverables: 1. Initial design of the circuit, different components, prices and online links to buy them online. 10% of cost transferred. 2. A video showing the first prototype working with no bluetooth commands (Just internal commands) showing that the circuit controls the flow of salt/pepper. 30% of cost transferred. 3. A video showing the circuit controlled via bluetooth shield. 20% of cost transferred. 4. Full documentation of the project. (hardware full design, code and description of work) 40% of the cost transferred. 5. Hardware cost reimbursement (If the freelancer would like to ship it to me)

Hello, Have a nice day. I can help you in prototyping bthe project. Since the cost and size of the hardware metters therfore i will suggest to use UNO. Secondally the goal can be acheived thru CC2540 made by texas instruments. I have experience with vending machines so I know what I am doing. I can make a prototype and even send it to you using a DC motor that costs $10-$20 and arduino uno + bluetooth shield. This is the most precise method of dosing powdered stuff. To be discussed is how big the container should be, and min/max dosage (in grams) and what time it should take for the maximum dose.

I have a few questions about this and a few comments. The first question I have is this, do you just need the circuitry built, or do you require everything, including the housing and pipe for this? What exactly are you planning on using this for? Now for comments. Actuators might be too slow for what you're looking to do. They are more expensive than solenoids. For what you are looking for, it's a simple open/close pipe. Actuators are better for larger things opening. The only drawback to using a solenoid is that they tend to get hot when they are on for a while, however, because, I'm assuming, you'll only have this open for a short time, so this shouldn't be an issue. Solenoids are fast, to boot. Next, if chosen for this, I will not build this for you, I will however create a bill of materials for you, as well as a circuit schematic, and an easy to read layout, basically all documentation. If required, I can also design the flow pipe(s) that you will be using. The flow pipe dimensions will be somewhat important, as the volume of this is required to determine the time that the solenoid will be open. Based on the fact that I will not build everything for you, I will do this for about 100 USD, which is 2/5 of what the minimum you are asking is.

Hi, I'm an Electronics Engineer with specialty in programmed Electronic circuits. First of all i will not use Arduino, i will use a direct assembler programming loaded into a PIC Microcontroller that is going to be the brain of the circuit. I have experience working with Bluetooth communications, the last thing i've made is a remote controller for Home Automation with On and Off timing controls. Because of my experience i can have a circuit design in 1 or 2 days, having the printed circuit in less than 3 days in regular size pieces, using a hc-05 Bluetooth module. If you would like to have a smaller circuit, because this one would have the module on it, i can do a Surface mount circuit design with the HC-05 integrated on it, but that can take longer, because i have to wait until my surface mount devices arrive, so is not preferred for the sample. I'm Bidding 15 days just because i have to wait for the solenoid valve to arrive for building the complete design but i can show the circuit working in 3 days, with the timing signals, having the possibility for sending different Hexadecimal codes for different timings (like H1=0.25 sec, H2=0.5 sec, H3=1 sec.), depending of what you need. If you're wondering how you can send the Hexadecimal codes, there are some free software in Android that can work for that, i can even send the video testing with one of those, just if you don't need something specialized.
