Fix my IPsec/L2TP Server to work with RADIUS on Ubuntu 16.04

I have an existing IPSec/L2TP Server based on Strongswan and xl2tpd. This one works fine, as long as I don't try to use RADIUS authentication & attributes but local config files only. I can connect using a client and reach everything as desired.
Additionally I have a Freeradius Server, that is set up with mysql database storage. The RADIUS Server itself works fine, as I can check with the radtest tool.
I need you to fix the setup, so that my IPSec/L2TP VPN Server requests the authentication information from the RADIUS Server instead of static config.
You will get remote access using SSH to the server. You can update software where needed.
