The aim of this project is to create an online learning site, which will provide a mixture of free and paid services.
The paid section of the site will include training course notes, outlines, tutorials, courses, e-texts, streaming video clips.
The site must have the following features:
Presentation of the courses portfolio, i.e., what courses, each time, are available to be frequented/bought;
Each course will have several lessons followed by, one or more, practice quiz, with one final course quiz that counts for scoring reasons.
Ability to add courses later and quizzes;
Ability to change and update prizes;
A private area where visitors can make their registration as users and thus have access to restricted content of the site – My Courses Page;
We want the ability to sign them up for the specific courses according to their own category;
My Courses Page – When a user selects the course, it should expand and show the lessons and quizzes.
When they select the lesson or quiz, the page should expand enough to accommodate and display the entire course or quiz.
Once we enter in user data, they should be able to retrieve a forgotten password automatically;
Each lesson and quiz should display a thumbnail lesson or quiz title and brief description;
Once they have complete a lesson or quiz, there should be a check mark next to the lesson or quiz;
The private area must have the historical of acquisitions made by the customer;
In the back office, it should have a space for private chat/forum. It will be communication channel between the trainer and the trainee;
It must allow online purchase of content and thus should be able to link with online payments platforms (e.g. PayPal);
Trainees will have a limited time to attend the course, so the site must control the time in which the contents are made available;
The site should also have a mechanism for creating and sending newsletters;
It should interact with social networks (facebook, google+, linkedin,...);
Website should be SEO and mobile device friendly;
Once a student has scored on their final exam we need to be notified via email they have passed and are awarded their prize. Email should include the enrolled users name, company, email,....
