Being a girl and user of make up products, I understand how a logo can affect the trust to a product, and need not to say an makeup artist. I have a good understanding of what you are looking to have for your logo after looking at your samples. I would love to say my approach to logo design is very similar to what you are looking for, simplicity is bold. I would propose pastel and feminine colours with free style fonts. Also I would avoid black font because of its rigidity, instead I will replace black with grey to create a softer tone. As for colours, I think pink or orange would give a sharp and charming impression to the logo. The letters in your name has great advantage because of its shape. The letters J and O'C can be played with to create a playful and smart characteristic. Also, I think it is possible to introduce a tool, such as a brush, to represent the work of a makeup artist. Again, the tool will be presented in the most simplistic way, but sending the message across to the customer.
