A Reggio Emilia Curriculum Approach (Early Childhood Studies)

This project is early childhood/preschool based and prior knowledge in the early childhood field would be beneficial to go about doing this project. I attached the rubrics for this project. a) Research ONE curriculum approach (Reggio Emilia) adopted in a foreign context (New Zealand). b) Prepare a 1800 words write-up. Suggested report format 1) Format of the write-up: a) Introduction (350 words) This section provides historical background on when, how and why curriculum approach (Reggio Emilia) is being introduced, accepted and adopted in a foreign country (New Zealand) b) Description & Analysis (1100 words) This section summaries the country’s(New Zealand) interpretation and adaptation of the curriculum approach, supported by examples of how one or more early childhood centres in that country has used the model. It should:  highlight the features of the approach which has been adopted, changed or removed in the local practices of the foreign country.  analyse the extent to which the unique local political, economic, social, cultural or environmental conditions of the foreign country have provided opportunities for the approach to succeed or posed constraints which hinder the implementation of the approach c) Conclusion (350 words) This section reflects on what an early childhood educator can learn from the experience of a country which has adopted the curriculum approach. Based on the lessons learnt from the foreign country, consider aspects of the curriculum approach which are/are not applicable for our local context. References (APA system) a.
