I propose an activity using the hands and weight of the body as an expressive tool. This could be carried out by myself as artist on a horizontal full body scale (dependent on what scale is wanted by the client), and with the conference attendees following on a much smaller scale at their work stations. The primary artist work would be an abstract form using the body, which is developed and increased over the period of the conference, whilst encouraging the people participating in the activities to choose a movement or feeling and express this in the clay, somewhat as a meditative act. I have just finished my Honours Degree in Fine Arts, primarily working in clay sculpture. All works hold an interest in how the body interacts and responds to the medium of clay. I am a proffessional sculptor with some of my work permenantly displayed at the V&A Waterfront (in front of the Nelson Mandela Museum/Robben Island Gateway) , the SA Language Monument and other.
