Attached is the "SOAPStone" graphic organizer that I put on the whiteboard last week. Use this to chart out your responses for EACH of the three readings. The Challenger article, the Challenger speech by Ronald Reagan and the Columbia speech by George Bush. Papers are to be about 5-6 pages. 1" margins. Double spaced. No double double between paragraphs, though. 12 pt font. You will submit a hard copy in class and an electronic copy in your Google Drive folder of the draft on Tuesday. I want you to pay close attention to backing up your reasoning and opinions with examples from the texts. Remember this assignment is to help you understand argumentative strategy. Here is an sample format to organize each paragraph. If you break a paper down to an organized structure it is much easier to tackle. A five page paper sounds daunting, a 14 paragraph paper sounds doable, a 98 sentence paper sounds manageable. (14 paragraphs multiplied by 7 sentences per paragraph equals 98 sentences. Approach each paragraph as a whole, but each sentence as its own stand along entity.) Para 1. Introduction to the idea of a rhetorical analysis and the texts you are using. How are the similiar?
