You are tasked to identify a 21st Century ‘problem’ and share information about the current situation using CPS theory, tools and techniques. As part of your work, you must explain the root of the problem (a minimum of 3x Problem Identification CPS tools/techniques must be included). You will need to conduct your own idea generation activities (with your own candidates) for a minimum of 1x of the tools/techniques selected, the other two examples can be individually generated. Then, using a CPS model of your choice, tell the current story of the ‘problem’ and suggest how using creative processes might open up new ways of thinking about solution creation in the future. You may communicate your scenario and findings in any written format that best showcases them i.e. report, essay, PowerPoint/Prezi etc. NB It must be a file format that can be uploaded to My Courses. Using the NB the Around the World Creativity Challenge (WEEK ONE) may help you identify your ‘problem’.
Identify a Problem: Choose a topical ‘issue’ that is either well known or resonates with you i.e. poverty. Using 3x CPS tool/technique identify the ‘root’ of the problem detailing the process and its findings in your final document
Think Creatively: Focusing on the ‘root problem’ consider what creative processes might be considered in order to find solutions. Explain a minimum of 2x theories and suggest what form they might take if they were used
Map to a Model: Surmise the issue, root problem and solution options (creative processes) using a CPS model of your choice. Bring-in current findings and knowledge about the ‘problem’ if it known to you
Grading Criteria (What constitutes a good assignment?): Demonstration of understanding of the content provided within the Labeling the Toolbox (Theory), The Toolbox (Tools & Techniques) and Using the Tools (Practical Application) series of Lectures. The ability to transpose this knowledge into your own explanations of theory and creation of solutions
