Contest Brief

Dear Designer,

To keep busy in our retirement we are planning a business out of our small farm in TaChong in north east Thailand.

The name we have chosen for the farm is NamSai which means clear water. We will base our products on high quality, organic, ecological values and will run a highly ethical business.

The business will be small scale. We are unlikely to get any income from it so we need to be professional within a tight budget.

We are currently in the process of converting a rice field into a home and aim to start a business once our chilli is ready to make our chilli sauce and the black organic rice is ready for harvest. We also plan to sell some take away food based, or inspired, largely on our produce.

As a side note I am Swedish/Australian and my wife is Thai.

What we need your help with is to design a logo that reflects what we will offer. I have added a couple of pictures that can be used as inspiration (but will need to be replaced by photos of our own or royalty free stock photos):
- The water lily as we have some in our waterways
- The palm tree, even though not present on our land, they are seen on rice fields around
- Brown Rice – grown on our land and will likely be a product we sell. Also the land for where we will run our business used to be a rice field.

Please note that NamSai is น้ำใส in Thai and I assume that this could potentially be incorporated in the design.
I hope the above has given you some inspiration and ideas for a quote. I expect a couple of rough drafts of designs and at least two-three iterations based on what is provided initially. Always happy to provide additional information and we do appreciate creativity so if you have some wild ideas/designs please feel free to run them past us.

I will need the final design to be provided in PhotoShop format as well as in High and Low resolution jpeg.

  Hi, We named our farm NamSai partly because when digging the waterways clear blue ground water filled one of the ponds. Doesnt have that much to do with what our business will be apart from that you need good clear water to create good quality organic vegetables and fruit.
