Contest Brief

I am looking for someone to help me with a logo brainstorm. My main purpose is to create a brand identity for our consulting business that is professional yet distinctive.
At this point I would like to undertake a brainstorming exercise to explore potential ideas - that is, the generation of several quick logo concepts (e.g., 5-10), not necessarily fully-formed logos. These could even be quick paper or digital sketches.
I don't have a strong preference for a word-mark or illustrative logo, but it should be in-keeping with the general tone of a professional consultancy or related firms - see document attached.
I would like the brand to stand out, and this could mean using gradients creatively, as also seen in the attached examples. (Firms in our field do not often use gradients in their branding.)
I have further attached the placeholder logo we currently use and the outcome of some initial brainstorming we did within our team, however, none of these initial 13 logos really worked for the concept.
I'm looking forward to seeing some interesting logo designs on which we could move forward to 'stage 2' - which would be selecting a final design, finishing the logo and building other elements of the brand identity.
