Contest Brief

Design a postage / retail pack for our award winning universal knobs.

We have a very popular universal replacement cooker knob system that has been selling fabulously since 2014.
The basis for our value proposition is that we make a well finished replacement appliance knob that is at least as good as many oem versions and often better so we may even be considered an upgrade.
Packaging is a large part of the value proposition and customer experience.

You can check it here.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zs3VEoNf_fg

As we have expanded our distribution around the world, some distributors have requested postage friendly packaging as more business moves on line.

So we though it would be a great chance to slim down our product and make it more suitable for postage sizes and even perhaps do a little free advertising whilst in transit.

The concept is to take our existing design with its clear display of its contents and f refresh the appearance and slim it down to work within the UK’s standard letter sizes.
And design a complimentary mailing sleeve or box that will subtly describe sell the contents and our brand.

Requirements.
Fit within a size envelope of 205mm x 130mm x 25-26mm H (knob hight is 23mm so height is the critical dim )
New Size 200 x 30x 25mm for sleeve or postage size. Retail box to fit within this.
Hold 5 sizes of knobs from 30mm to 55mm securely during transport.
Section for accessory kit that goes with each “outer” knob.
Reinforced edges due to increase rigidity in transport.

Some suggestions.
Slide or fold down box

Considerations for winning entry
Customer experience.
Utility mail/retail use.
Environmental material choice.
Manufacturable by box producers

Hi, what I can assess is that you are now wanting a long thin box that fits your nobs along the length of the box. The size you have supplied (200mm x 30mm x 25mm) seems extremely tight even to accommodate your smallest diameter knob (30mm), which I think it not going to work too well, you need to give a bit more space all around. I would appreciate it if you could send me a direct message so that I can discuss your packaging with you, it is not making sense to me and I would like to give you a good job. I have worked with a lot of packing over the years, and this does not seem right to me. Thanks, Wanda
