Contest Brief

We require a logo for a new group of automotive parts stores. There are 3 stores in the group and they want to change their image.
They deal with “the trade”. That means they mainly supply workshops or garages with car spare parts.
They do have all sorts of parts but they are about to concentrate on parts for European cars. Such as BMW, Mercedes and Audi.
Typical car spare parts would be spark plugs, air and oil filters, universal joints, clutches, brake pads, brake discs, oil, headlight globes, etc.
Their business name is:
Group Auto Spares (or the acronym GAS).
The motive, logo or symbol should relate to automotive parts and could feature an automotive symbol such as a mag wheel, a steering wheel, traffic lights, a car, a road,
If it does feature a motive such as the above, it should be subtle. A picture of a spark plug and their name in a coloured font will not cut it.
Their preferred colour scheme will feature orange and something. Could be Orange and Blue, Orange and grey etc.
They want a modern, professional, sophisticated logo. It should give the impression that they are a smart modern business. Their business moto is “The Right Parts, The Right Price, Right Now”.
Fast service is one of their offers.
Their customers are mechanics- blue collar workers but they also want to impress their suppliers with how professional they are.
The logo will be used on the front of their stores, on vehicles, on business documents, uniforms etc.
