Contest Brief

I am building a Knowledge Base with training articles as the content. Each training article will be its own SharePoint page as the entire KB will live within SharePoint.
1. Page must work in SP2013, 2016 and SP Online (can be separate templates)
2. Each page must accommodate a title, summary section, detailed training steps section, related links section, and a video section.
3. The idea is that a user lands on the page and can read the text, or click on a video and watch it write on the page.
4. The videos will be stored within SharePoint. They must be accessible from this template page in a section that is as wide as one of the two columns on this page
5. The page will have two columns
6. The page template should be responsive
7. The page template should be designed in such a way that allows any site collection admin install the KB. For example, no solutions (SP hosted or provider hosted or farm solutions)
8. Users must be able to click on the video to run, but also have the ability to expand to full screen

Any questions will be answered as an update to the contest details. Please keep in mind that there will probably be a lot of entries for this contest and we won't be able to respond to all of you, especially if you miss the mark completely.

We are using this contest as a way to find SharePoint experts who can help us with a lot of work planned in 2018.

Thanks and good luck!

Employer Feedback

“This freelancer was very understanding and patient with my continued missed communications. This was my first major project on freelancer and it turns out I wasn't prepared. They still did their best to anticipate when needed, or react if I said anything. Just from sheer communications, I would recommend you hire them.”

I can start working on your requirement using angular for responsive pages. I have sent a similar mockup.

This contest is to create a SharePoint page. No entry has even gone in that direction. I would recommend you only participate in this contest if you are familiar with SharePoint and using HTML/CSS/JavaScript to make this happen and understand page layouts within SharePoint 2013 and higher. Thanks

Hi, while it looks nice, it is not what I'm looking for since it is a web page like you'd see on the Internet and not a SharePoint page you'd find on a SharePoint site. Please take another pass. Thanks

I'll upload a wireframe tomorrow, but really the hard part will not be where things go but how they go. For example putting the video on a SharePoint page pulling from an asset library or something similar. YouTube's Creator Academy Course layout is something along the lines of what I'm looking for. Regarding the technical approach, I have seen folks take a SharePoint Hosted App solution and just repackage it so it is a series of files (javascript, CSS, etc.) that can be uploaded into a library and referenced. Keep in mind, SPD is also not available in my user environments, and won't be available. Thanks

      Thanks for your response !!!

Sure it would better for me to give you exact effort estimation based on wireframe analysis. For video on a SharePoint page we can use asset library and for YouTube's we can use embeded script editor.
Regarding technical approach we will also use SharePoint Hosted App solution and refrences of javascript, CSS, etc will be from library.

I have gone through with the description and need clarification on below points:

    1) Can you pls share the sample mock up screen for knowledge base ?
    2) I noticed that you mentioned in point#7
no solutions (SP hosted or provider hosted or farm solutions)
Are you looking for OOTB approach with SharePoint OOTB UI ? If yes then I can also achive the things in SP OOTB feature and it will support in SP 2013/2016 and Office 365 as well.

Please do suggest your convenient time so that we can talk.
