OAM radio waves generation using dielectric resonator antenna array

In this paper, a practical way for the generation of waves carrying OAM is investigated with the utilization of cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) array. The antenna array consists of 8 slot coupled cylindrical dielectric resonator antennas which are fed by microstrip lines. The interaction of delayed radiation from each antenna element generates EM waves with different modes of OAM. Moreover, planar feeding network is designed and simulated. Simulations are performed at 3.5 GHz.

This paper discusses a novel and a practical method to generate radio beams carrying Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) by using slot antenna array. Different modes of OAM waves can be produced by keeping a constant phase delay between adjacent feed elements. This slot antenna array is designed and simulated at 7.8 GHz by using full wave simulator. Moreover, the mutual coupling between elements will be discussed in this paper.
