Senior Technical Writer. Fiserv CBS USA Division (July 1997 - Present). Responsible for creating and updating AS/400 documentation and online help. The writing process to determine the necessary documentation changes consists of several aspects, including reviewing business requirements and functional specifications, interviewing subject matter experts, identifying goals within a project, reviewing the application, and calculating time estimates to complete the necessary work. Other duties include:
* Acting as the Documentation Release Coordinator by monitoring the publications portion of the release, informing other departments of the publication production schedule, informing other writers of the release’s status, attending weekly release meetings, and developing necessary release literature.
* Creating task-based documentation by learning an application with a hands-on approach along with technical and functional specifications.
* Reviewing applications for consistency to development standards.
* Editing communications to the client base containing corrections to the applications.
* Assisting with the publication needs of other departments within the company.
Project Leader. Global Software Inc. Midrange Division (August 1996 - July 1997). Responsible for creating and updating AS/400 and PC documentation as well as online help. Other duties included:
* Developing application education schedules.
* Establishing print and online publication standards.
