Soon after graduation I started working as a freelance translator (English / Russian to Italian). I specialized in translating business /marketing and legal documents. At the same time, I became a contributor to some local newspapers and speaker for a small radio network.
In 1997, I started my training in Intellectual Property, dealing with trademark prosecution, recordal of changes of ownership and patent and trademark renewals. In 2001, after the required trainee-ship, I passed examinations and enrolled in the Italian IP Consultant Board.
I matured a considerable experience in the protection and enforcement of IP rights (in particular trademarks, designs, domain names and copyright). My area of expertise extends from planning a protection strategy and relevant availability searches / clearance up to its implementation, including filing procedures, prosecution and enforcement and conformity assessment of labels and packages.
In my professional experience, I acquired a broad competence in drafting / revising contracts (such as license contracts, distribution agreements, non-disclosure agreements, assignments, settlements, etc.) in an International environment.
Furthermore, I am an expert at the management of out-of-court controversies and administrative litigation in several jurisdictions and have in-depth knowledge of business / corporate law and privacy law.
In 2004 (when a new EU regulation about Customs intervention came into force) I started dealing and became an expert at anti-counterfeiting actions, i.e. Customs registrations and Customs seizure of counterfeit goods, market investigations, monitoring and preventing the circulation of counterfeits on-line and grey market issues.
Now I am working as a free-lance consultant for some Law Firms / companies I have been co-operating with these last years and I am desirous to broaden my business contacts.
