I am a former U.S. Navy fast-attack submarine nuclear reactor operator. Reading and writing technical manuals and procedures have been a fact of life for me for over 15 years. I've even learned not to fall asleep while reading them! I trained as a scuba diver on the same training base as combat marines, air rescue, and Navy SEALs. My last assignment in the Navy was to use cutting-edge sales and recruiting techniques to recruit top-quality men and women for the nuclear power program. (It’s a lot harder than it sounds!) My first love for writing came when I wrote my beautiful wife love letters from under the sea during all three of my deployments. If I could get a musically inclined vocalist to fall in love with my musically backward, can’t-carry-a-tune-in-a-bucket self, I must have said something right! We are happily married with two boys under three. Upon transitioning from Navy Nuclear Power to the Navy Reserves, I somehow completed a Master's Degree while working full-time as a manager and EHS Professional for a construction company. As it stands today, I consider myself an expert in academic writing and editing and have been published in two academic journals.
