Convert MS Access Inventory Reorder Database

I have a Microsoft Access database on a single PC that is used for generating an inventory reorder report, based on data from the POS software database. The Access database is in .accdb format and pulls the info it needs from .dbf files located on a shared network folder on the POS that hosts the POS software database.

Please excuse any incorrect software terminology in the following.

Currently, when moving the database to another PC, I can run it and point it to the correct network share location. However, there is a missing .dll error and some VBA errors, that I have no idea how to fix.

If it is possible, I would to have this database in a self-contained portable format that can be run from any PC on the connected LAN. As it stands, if the HDD in the PC it is currently running on has a catastrophic failure (unrecoverable data loss), I have no restoration outside of the weekly full HDD backups. I would prefer if that was not the only method to get this working again. The ability to run this from multiple PC’s also lessens the impact of hardware failure.

Additional Technical Info:

The size of the Access Database is 86MB, currently runs in Access 2007 on a Windows 10 PC (previously Windows 7). I just need compatibility with 7 and up.

There is no dedicated server on the network to put the back-end on. Additionally, POS vendors are not fans of having 3rd party software on their equipment.

I mostly work in the hardware side of IT, but I have decent grasp on database deployment (inventory and customer management software). From my experience, it seems some flavor of SQL may be a possible solution here.

However, I will defer to any solution that is as simple for the end user as can be reasonably achieved.

I have no issues with a few installations steps, if necessary. Just need good documentation.

It is not a high demand application, currently used for 30-45min, 3-5 times per week.

I can schedule a time(s) for you to have remote access to the PC to see the current setup and operation,

while on the phone with myself and the user.

Above all else, I don’t like working in the dark and trying to guess if my solution is going to meet the client’s needs. I won’t ask that of you. If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions, I will make every effort to be reply in 30min or less.
