IMPORTANT : PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE JOB DESCRIPTION BEFORE ANSWERING. I WILL NOT ANSWER TO GENERIC MESSAGES.
I am looking for someone able to do convert .step files into .obj or .fbx or any usable mesh that can be imported in a regular 3D software (like Blender).
Many friends have tried without success, one of the main difficulties being to preserve the information of materials in the conversion process.
Once the files are converted into mesh, I will apply pretty shadings and render it. So each mesh should contain the information of where each material goes so I can quickly redo the materials in a 3D software. Because the topology of the mesh will likely be very bad (triangulated…) after the conversion, I need the mesh to keep an optimal amount of precision and details so curves do not look like angles.
NOTE : Do not manually try to guess and apply the different areas for materials after converting, because that will end up very approximative and wrong on 200 pieces.
I attached one example .step file that you can download here :
If you are able to do that, please send me the result you achieved with your suggested price for each conversion.
You can download the .step file here : [login to view URL]
If I pick you for the job, you will get around 200 files to convert.
Good luck to you !
