Video Ads Delivery (VAST VPAID) - Plugin Troubleshooting and Improving

We have a VideoJS video player bundled together with various plugins on our wordpress websites.

Plugins:

- videojs-chromecast

- videojs-vast-vpaid

We need our video ad delivery plugin (videojs-vast-vpaid) to be able to read and serve all types of VAST/VPAID tags and play them on all types of devices.

Currently it is not able to read certain types of VAST and VPAID tags, and playback on Android devices is struggling.

We'll need you to:

- Improve the plugin so that It can play the video ads on Andoid devices, and fix issues with other devices and browsers (desktop & mobile).

- Improve the plugin so that it can include readability of multiple types of video ad tag structures.

- Improve plugins so that the advertising videos can be streamed through the Chromecast device while the video is playing. (Currently video is streamed but the ad is playing on the sending device (e.g. laptop), not on the receiving device (tv))

You'll be given a report containing various VAST and VPAID tags and their functionality, so you'll know where to start immediately.

Extensive work has already been done on the project so you'll not be starting from scratch. You will deliver finishing touches and be considered for our next projects.

Please apply if you are able to:

- Write code to improve and extend functionality of present plugins

- You have extensive experience with PHP / WordPress / Javascript / API development / Troubleshooting

- You are able to deliver high quality code that has been extensively tested in various scenarios.

OPTIONAL:

- You'll have access to software that provides virtual devices and browsers (mobile and desktop). Since the functionality of all plugins needs to be tested on all types of browsers and a wide spectrum of mobile devices this will save a lot of time.

PREREQUISITES:

You'll need to have a fully functioning Chromecast device in order to be able to test your code.

We can send you a device per post only if you are located in Germany. Everyone else applying outside of the country will need to have their own.
