Your project could be done in Python with tkinter, but I think it would be better suited to an actual game development software like Gamemaker. I loved Planescape Torment, and have enjoyed several Visual Novels. Did you know that Visual Novels are some of the most reliably selling games on Steam? I will work closely with you to deliver an excellent demo for Kickstarter ASAP. I have done a Kickstarter in the past for a Trading Card Game I invented called Legend of the Cypher, so you could benefit from some of the lesson's I've learned.
