Existing extension description:
Using Amazon Product Advertising API this extension can import products into OpenCart 3.0.2.0 store catalog. Once the product is already in the catalog, the extension has many ways of keeping the catalog up-to-date, updating various product information data points using the API.
The extension can import new products from [login to view URL] in the following ways:
1. Use the admin panel to search for a single product on amazon (ASIN, UPC, etc), select the product from the results and import
2. Use the admin panel to perform a keyword search, select the results and import. (Limits imposed by Amazon API 10 products on a page, max 10 pages)
3. Import by ASIN from a csv file of ASINs – (list generated by unrelated tools). This function can import thousands of products by passing 10 ASINs at a time to the API.
4. Run a cron job that uses a list of keywords saved in the in the admin panel to import the results from the Amazon API search, rotating the keywords.
The extension maintains the catalog once in the database in one of the following ways:
1. Using a cron job, it will check all the products (100,000 products in 24 hr) against Amazon API, and update selected product information (mostly we only update the price and availability, but periodically we refresh the description, images, etc)
2. Live update, when customer visits a product pages on the website, we update that product if it was not updated in the past 6 hours. (ignoring bots) – we mostly use this method since it is less demanding on the server and more efficient.
