Film Daily is a new online platform connecting audiences with indie filmmakers via news, views, and reviews.
We are a scrappy new media startup aiming to disrupt the film distribution and production industries. We work with amazing, storied clients and new emerging technologies & agencies.

Good communication skills, fluent in written and spoken English
Deep practical understanding of programming principles
Deep understanding of WordPress architecture, conventions, and best practices
Ability to hand-code WordPress sites that are well structured, clean, and semantic
Familiarity with website load issues (esp. WordPress-specific), including image file size management and js dependency chains
Ability to distinguish what goes into a plugin as opposed to a theme
Understanding of e-commerce principles, especially with WooCommerce
Familiarity with MySQL / PhpMyAdmin
Fundamental understanding of REST
Basic understanding of enterprise website development workflow (git, deployment, etc.)
Grasp of basic UX principles
Grasp of SEO basics
Regularly update, maintain, and troubleshoot problems on existing WordPress sites
Integrate with third-party APIs (including Facebook, Twitter, Stripe, etc.)
Research and implement new feature solutions including utilizing existing plugins
Increase efficiency of WordPress websites for both users and admins
Working together with Web Architect to create solutions that work for business as well as technical requirements
Implement e-commerce solutions with WooCommerce
Successful candidates will work remotely, with regularly scheduled online meetings.
