I have an existing system built in Codeigniter. It is currently running cron job to read files in a folder and update data into database. It will first check and eliminate duplicate entries, then process the data and update into the database. The process is currently running very very slow like a whole day for one file. It will send email update after the end of each file process (probably it sent before each file finished processed because it is running in a while loop to check if there are any more file to be process). The email most are showing 500 Internal Server Error. Hope any professional have an idea to fix the problem.
