I am looking for a Unix BSD script that will convert a Unix document (one created from a Unix text editor) to a .doc document. It doesn't have to be a true MS Word document. It simply needs to be a text document with ".doc" added to the name and, most importantly, the character returns converted so when Word opens the file there are no paragraph marks at the end of each line.
I have tried u2d and unix2dos and they don't seem to work.
What I need to to is write documents on a Unix shell, run the file through the script (that you will write) and then send the file (coverted by the script) to someone with a non-Unix (ie Windows) system. They should be able to open the file and it should look like a normal Word document. They shouldn't know the difference.
