We need functionality added to this website: [url removed, login to view]
Other functionality options will come up as this project is worked on.
1. The project is to initially create the ability for a user to upload videos to the site and we approve them (see below).
2. There are also misc projects under the MAIN PAGE and MAIN TABS section below, but those can come later
NOTE: This site is on a **********WINDOWS HOSTED SERVER************ The site is currently in ASP – with a SQL database. The site is hosted with [url removed, login to view]
VIDEO INFORMATION
1. Uploading Video (the core of this project)
A. We need some way to manage this video - either it is automatically converted to a format that will show live (flash video?) or we have to download the video, then manually format the video ourselves and then re-upload
What video formats will we accept?
2. We will need an Administration Panel where we will need the following
A. if posted to incorrect category, we have ability to move the video to correct category
B. we need to be able to approve or delete the video
C. Approve or delete any comments
D. Delete and edit USERS (user accounts must be created to upload videos)
3. All videos should be limited to no more than 10 minutes in length
4. Need to make the sign-in/register page work:

5. Once user has an account - functionality needs to be created to let them upload their video and enter/choose the following
Need to ask them the following whenever they upload a video:
- name
- AGE (make this optional)
- home town (make this optional?)
- video title
- primary region (Geographic location)
- video category (Nature, Foods, The Locals, The Unusual, Mix & Match, Historical)
- when was video taken
- are you posting a video in response to a request on this site (Y or N) – if Y, who made the request
- email address (optional to allow viewers to contact that person directly if they want to)
After video uploads- have link that asks would you like to upload another video?
And a thank you message, thanking them for their contribution to [url removed, login to view] and letting them know that videos are typically approved within 24 hours and then posted lived on the site.
6. Each video that is listed on the site needs to have a "rate this video" option
A. Anyone can rate, don't need to be signed in to an account to do this
Use 5 stars option, 1 star lowest, 5 stars the best?
B. Also needs to show “user views” ie – how many times the video has been viewed
C. Allow comments to be left for individual videos which appear under the video
- Comments can be left without having an account (but need to be approved by admin)
7. Videos need to be able to be enlarged, med screen, full screen
MAIN PAGE
1. Map on right hand side of main page. Make this bigger and make this the ONLY map on the main page. Regions need to be hyperlinked so if you click on a region you will automatically be taken to that region's videos. Can use the blue map to replace the small map currently on site if needed. Once the main map is gone, in its place will be some of the highest rated videos as small boxes which will play when you click play on them.
2. Grey links all the way at the bottom of the page: - the content for these will be added by us. I suggest we get these up and running now before we submit this bid (this is content we can contribute and setup on the site so we don't have to pay anyone for this)
3. Video Categories - the primary categories will be by region - and then the secondary category will be by these categories:
The Unusual | Funny | Nature | Foods | The Locals | Mix & Match | Historical
4. If possible make site IP specific, so when someone goes to the site, any information what we want to show specific to their home country, will show, based on the IP they are using to connect to the net from
5. Search Feature across the entire site, maybe to the left of the main tabs at the top of the page?
6. Slightly redesign main page – see how it goes, move things around – work in progress
MAIN TABS
1. DESTINATIONS - hold mouse over this link currently brings up links from the main regions in the world, click on one of those regions and needs to be setup so that you are taken to a page with videos, as well as links to any countries in that particular region
2. TRAVEL SERVICES - for the time being link to several useful sites including Visa info, state department reports, affiliate widgets here and other?
3. TRAVEL TIPS – Change this to "Travel Talk" and create one message board to start with
4. TRAVEL JOBS - implement classified software here - allow businesses to be able to upload 1 video per classified
-- this section will be a paid section for users to upload any travel employment offers - probably something simple to start, just a form where we manually post jobs – use Google checkout and PayPal, like I use on other sites. I can set this up.
5. VIDEO REQUESTS Regarding Requests – when they click on it they get message that says:
“Do you have a request? Is there a video of a place you would like to see? Post it here and a member of our worldwide community may be able to get it on our site for you.”
The Request page will merely be a message board forum. Use pre designed message board for the REQUEST category. If someone posts request for video in forum – and then someone actually posts the video – how to tie the video post to update on the message board. If possible.
