Migrate curl to curl_multi_exec in PHP

I have a Google scraping script that scans Google for my keyword set. I use one curl request per keyword. The script waits until one request is processed and then starts with the next.
I heard about curl_multi_exec which could make this so much easier. Can you please migrate my existing script to curl_multi_exec?
Important: I still want to use proxies. A different proxy per multi_curl would be nice, but at least curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_PROXY, $proxy); should be possible.
