Google Analytics data extraction via API - repost

I want to create a report system via Google Analytics using their API to record editorial output from a series of websites that I manage.
I'm currently manually pulling data via a Google docs spreadsheet connected to the API - this is proving time consuming and the final output still requires work to get this into shape for further reporting done in Microsoft Excel.
What I would like is to a simple front end interface that allows me to
select multiple dimensions (currently - ga:pagePath,ga:customVarValue1,ga:customVarValue2,ga:customVarValue3 - but would also need to pull time on page average)
apply filters (currently - ga:pagePath=~/articles/ - this would change from site to site but I can provide the parameters for the full range)
sort by ascending/descending.
I then need to be able to output this report as an Excel file. Each line entry in the file will need to have a field to identify the site and wether it is a news item or a featured article.
