We need a 5-10 page website built for our Real Estate Investment Partnering business. The site will be hosted on a Linux Virtual Server at GoDaddy.com. It should be maintainable by me for basic text and photo changes. (I am willing to purchase/use web authoring tools if needed). Some of the features would include: Weblog (wordpress plugin) Video/Audio posts "Deals" page which would be text with some pictures of current and past deals. "About us" "Partners" "Contact Us" (with captca protection) I would also like to have a "private" section (simple passwords are fine for the first version). Requirments: #1 No propritary technologies like ASP, etc. It must look and perform well on Firefox, Chrome, MAC (Safari and Opera), and yes even IE... - Must work on GoDaddy's virtual linux hosting - Must be reasonably easy for me to maintain/update (new text and pictures) using common authoring/website tools (I would appreciate your recommendation on what to get). - Mobile is not a requirement today, but an interest in the future. - Designers who can add SEO enhancements and offer SEO advice will be given preference. Before the work begins I will create a list of websites that I do, and do not like. I will make as many notes as possible before the start to try to reduce wasted time.
UPDATED NOTE: Some of the websites we like include: [login to view URL] (like the clean feel of this one..) [login to view URL] (Innovative use of video walk through. Clear navigation. Still a bit busy though.) [login to view URL] (Captures lead information right away. Clear what the focus is, and what the prospect should expect….) Some of the bidders have suggested a Wordpress website. I am hesitant to do that for fear of limiting myself to what their site will support.
