Connect Flash Calendar with Web Service

The goal of this project is to tweak and modify a Flash-based calendar to connect to an web service, parse the XML data and display the content on the calendar. The source code has been attached for your review.
## Deliverables
The current state of the calendar:
* The calendar lets the user toggle between a few different months in the year which I believe are hard-coded with specific event dates.
* As you click through the months the calendar numbers are highlighted and a mouse over appears.
What needs to happen:
* All the static content needs to be stripped and the calendar has dynamically render months into the future using an XML web service that is somewhat easy to parse.
* The web service is a rather large XML file (included in the zip file attached). All the events are encoded into it, for performance reasons I'd recommend if you parsed the XML on initialisation of the app and stored the events in an associative array with only the pertinent data for all events. Then you ditch the XML (since it has a lot of memory overhead).
* The application should receive a FlashVar called "province" which should filter all the results displayed by the Province tag in the XML. Obviously any dates in the the past should be ignored.
* Upon clicking on the circled date (which has an event) the user should be linked to the URL in the link tag listed within the XML.
This is a small project, all the code is in Flash CS4 and written in AS3.0. The code base is somewhat well written, it would be easy to strip and implement the functionality. I've attached all the source and resources for you to accurately quote.
