Project A Need By: ASAP Output below to be used in a Cold Fusion (MX) application. The ability to read a specific file on a user’s computer. The file location will be ‘hard coded’ but the file name will be dynamic. The objective will be to read the one line of encrypted text on the file within the online application and read the parsed text. The process of encryption and decryption is not a part of this project. I need the single line of text passed back to the application much like the CFFILE action=??read?? does for server-side files. The directory we need to access is on the user’s machine. The name of the directory is dynamic and will match the ODBC name of their data source. The variable is called “DATATRAC?? and is set in the [login to view URL] file: <CFSET DataTrac = ‘LAWTRAC2K’> *is the name of our development and testing data source.* The file name is also dynamic. The file name is a variable called “ID??. My ID on our applications is “JH9??. * * * Example: | On my C drive I would have a folder named LAWTRAC2K and because my “ID?? in the application is JH9 my file would be named [login to view URL] The file “[login to view URL]? is just a text file with an embedded string (encrypted). * * * | | Each application has a different ODBC source name and all the users of those applications (of course) have different ID values. I need the single line of text returned to the application as a variable where I can decrypt and read. You will also be expected to support your code through our testing period which should only be a few days. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform The challenge is to read a user’s machine from the server. An ActiveX component, Java Applet or a C++ dll file registered to the CF Administrator is not out of the question. Just document your processes and supply the un-compiled code so our customer IT managers can review it for their internal security concerns. Our company makes an online application that the customer can run on their Intranet or on our Internet servers. So the operating systems of not only the servers, but the user’s machines vary. The final product needs to function on either a “Windows?? or “Unix?? based machine. This may mean you’ll have to have two flavors or pass the “[login to view URL]? variable value to your code.
