I am looking for a programmer (Visual Basic 6.0 prefered but not a must) who has the time to program a scheduler and reminder software that contains the three parts 'date', 'jobs' and 'TV scheduler'. There are a lot of ready video clips that should be displayed in the program window, depending on the user's action. ## Deliverables Extensive Scheduler Software I am looking for a programmer (Visual Basic 6.0 prefered but not a must) who has the time to program a scheduler and reminder software that contains the three parts 'date', 'jobs' and 'TV scheduler'. There are a lot of ready video clips that should be displayed in the program window, depending on the user's action. Detailed Description: Please let me start with comment to the programming language. It is importantfor me that I will be able to make some minor changes to the source code to change some design elements or to change texts in a textboxand things like that. So I would prefer Visual Basic 6.0. But if you are sure that I will have no problems to do such changes in another programming language's source code that you prefer, it is fine too. The main functions of the tool are: - adding dates (including location, comment and reminder settings) - adding jobs to a todo list (including priority, deadline and reminder settings) - adding movies to a TV scheduler (including time of start and channel) - editing option for entered dates, jobs and entries in the TV scheduler. - a reminder that pops up to fixed timepoints Let me now start with a step by step description. Attached you can find screenshots from every tool window with the different functionalities that are needed. I created that tool windows with Visual Basic 6.0 only to make it easier to explain what I want. Of course the tool I created is without functionality. Then I would not be here... The text blocks within the screenshots is in english but later I will change them out to german text. The english text is only a place holder to make it easier to explain. Important: Ignore the design style I created for the screens of the forms! I am really bad in this. Find a better design style. And please use controls in the vista style. I know that Visual Basic 6.0 does not offer it, exepted with controls from third party companies. Screen 1: This is the window that should start when installing. Where the girl's picture is located as a place holder, a movie clip ([login to view URL]) should be played in 640x480 pixels. The movie explaines that the user should chose out from the drop down menu his own first name. If his first name is not poart of the list, he should chose the default entry 'witout first name'. You can find all needed firstnames in the attached file '[login to view URL]'. Then the user should press on 'next'. By the way: The installation should add the tool to the autostarted windows programs. And the tool should be started through a click on an icon in the systray. May be you can find a suitable icon. Otherwise take a placeholder and I will change it later. If the user clicks on the icon the tool window should come up in the middle of the screen in the modus that is displayed on screen 4a. Screen 2: Here the girl explains how the tool works. All displayed controls on the tab menu on the left side, including the tab menu, are not clickable. It is just a screen to imagine it to the user while the girl is explaining something. The only clickable command buttons are the two 'let me talk slang' and 'let me talk polite'. In the german language (and I will translate all written texts when the source code is finished to german) we have, may be you know it, two different ways to talk with other people. A more friendly way in which we use kind of a 'you' and a more distance way in which we use the crazy form 'they' :-) So the user can chose here, if the girl should talk later to him in the 'you' or inthe 'they' form. But do not care about this. I just wanted to explain why I want to let the user chose the way of communication on this program's form. Name of the movie clip: [login to view URL], 427x320 px. Before changing from scree2 to screen3 after the user clicked on on of the two buttons, the clip (name)[login to view URL] should be played. (name) depends on the first name the user chosed in form1. I.E. if he chosed 'uwe', the clip name is uwe1.avi. If he chosed 'without first name', then clip [login to view URL] should be played. One second after the clip was played the form should change to screen3. Screen 3: Now only the buttons unter the movie control are replaced. The user can chose if he wants to enter datas to the scheduler now or later. If he clicks the left button the tool changes to screen 4, if he clicks the right button the program's form is closed and only visible in the systray. Please try to reduce used RAM when the tool goes to the sleeping mode. At least fresh up the memory from the mediaplayer control including the displayed movie clip content. The played movie clip is here [login to view URL] or 3b.avi. That depends of the selection concerning the style of communication. If the user selected 'slang' in screen 2 it is 3a.avi. If he selected 'polite', it is 3b.avi. Screen 4a: (if coming up after installation) The screens 4a - 4f show all forms concerning the modus 'dates'. To imagine I implemented the Microsoft month view control as you can see on the left side. If you find a finer one, please use that. In the middle I displayed all entered dates, that could be scrolled if there are more than the could be placed on the form. If this form is called up the first time like after the tool installation, there is of course no entry. ONLY if this form comes up after clicking on 'enter datas' from form 3, the played movie clip is [login to view URL] or 4b.avi. If this form is called by clicking the icon in the systray or from the windows explorer, other clips are played. (later more..) By the way: If the user clicks on 'delete' a pop up should give him the chance if he really wants to delete this entry. Screen 4a: (if coming up all other time) Here is another movie clip played. And now it becomes a bit delicate. The video clip must be combined on the fly. Means: To have some variety of movie clips please make a double ranomizing to play always two different clips after each other (without a break between both clips), followed by a third clip. First clip: Randomize between 26.avi...[login to view URL] AND (name)[login to view URL] rules: [login to view URL] is only possible if the user chosed a male name. Male names are the first part in the attached file '[login to view URL]' [login to view URL] is only possible if the user chosed a female name. Male names are the first part in the attached file '[login to view URL]' [login to view URL] is only possible if the actual time is > 5:00 and < 10:15 and it should be played max once a day. [login to view URL] is only possible if the actual time is > 5:00 and < 10:15 and if the user chosed a male name and it should be played max once a day. [login to view URL] is only possible if the actual time is > 5:00 and < 10:15 and if the user chosed a female name and it should be played max once a day. [login to view URL] is only possible if the actual time is > 19:00 and it should be played max once a day. [login to view URL] is only possible if the actual time is > 19:00 and if the user chosed a male name and it should be played max once a day. [login to view URL] is only possible if the actual time is > 19:00 and if the user chosed a female name and it should be played max once a day. (name)[login to view URL] is only possible if the user chosed a first name on screen 1. I.E. if he chosed 'uwe', the clip name is '[login to view URL]'. The chance of (name)[login to view URL] should be 30%, so much higher than the chance of one of the clips [login to view URL] to 34.avi. But only if the user chosed a first name. Second clip: for users with 'slang' setting between 10.avi....[login to view URL] rules: [login to view URL] is only possible if the actual time is > 12:00 [login to view URL] is only possible if the actual time is > 6:00 and < 9:00 and it should be played max once a day. [login to view URL] is only possible if the actual time is > 6:00 and < 9:00 and it should be played max once a day. [login to view URL] is only possible if the actual time is > 20:00 and it should be played max once a day. for users with 'slang' setting between 19.avi....[login to view URL] and [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] rules: [login to view URL] is only possible if the actual time is > 20:00 and it should be played max once a day. [login to view URL] is only possible if the actual time is > 12:00 [login to view URL] is only possible if the actual time is > 6:00 and < 9:00 and it should be played max once a day. [login to view URL] is only possible if the actual time is > 6:00 and < 9:00 and it should be played max once a day. Third clip: The third clip depend on the amount of already entered dates and the chosen communication style. If 'slang': if no date entered: [login to view URL] if one date entered: [login to view URL] if two date entered: [login to view URL] if three date entered: [login to view URL] if > three date entered: [login to view URL] If 'polite': if no date entered: [login to view URL] if one date entered: [login to view URL] if two date entered: [login to view URL] if three date entered: [login to view URL] if > three date entered: [login to view URL] Screen 4b: I think this screen is more or less selbdescribing. The default entry for the reminder alert is 'one hour before timepoint'. The design of this form is terrible, I know. Also like in the other forms. Please change it to a more professional look. :-) Screen 4c: This screen comes up if the user entered a new date in screen 4b and clicked on'add'. Depending on the entries on the form on screen 4b, prepared short avi clips must be pasted and played one after the other (without a recognizable break between the clips). The order of the single clips is this: [login to view URL] or [login to view URL] & (weekday).avi & day(day).avi & hour(hour).avi & minute(minutes).avi & (city).avi & [login to view URL] Example: [login to view URL] & [login to view URL] & [login to view URL] & [login to view URL] & [login to view URL] & [login to view URL] & [login to view URL] Three comments to this: Do not implement the (minutes).avi if the number of minutes are 0, i.e. if the user entered the timepoint 10:00 Do only implement the (city).avi if the entered location is one of the cities in the attached file '[login to view URL]' In Germany we do not have a.m. and p.m. We count the hours from 0 to 23. So do not care about a.m. and p.m. Screen 4d: I think this one is self explaining again. This form should come up if the user clicks on 'edit' on screen/form 4a. If no clip is played in a form like in this one the last clip's frame from the form before can be displayed.? Screen 4e: This one comes up if the user clicks on 'save changes' on screen 4d. Video clip: 7a/[login to view URL] Screen 4f: This one comes up if the user clicks on 'delete' on screen 4a and verified he chose in the following pop up (there is no screen from this pop up here, please just use the msgbox. Video clip: 8a/[login to view URL] Screen 5a: This is a similar strukture like screen 4a. The clip that should be played depends on the amount of already entered dates and the chosen communication style. If 'slang': if no date entered: [login to view URL] if one date entered: [login to view URL] if two date entered: [login to view URL] if three date entered: [login to view URL] if > three date entered: [login to view URL] If 'polite': if no date entered: [login to view URL] if one date entered: [login to view URL] if two date entered: [login to view URL] if three date entered: [login to view URL] if > three date entered: [login to view URL] Screen 5b: I think they are self describing. The strukture is comparable with the date management (screens 4a to 4f) Screen 5c: Here two clips must be played after another. The first clip depends on the communication style and the number of days to the entered date. The second one on the chosen priority. Clip 1: If 'slang': if the entered day is one day later: [login to view URL] if the entered day is two days later: [login to view URL] if the entered day is three days later: [login to view URL] if the entered day is four days later: [login to view URL] if the entered day is five days later: [login to view URL] if the entered day is six days later: [login to view URL] if the entered day is seven days later: [login to view URL] if the entered day is > seven days later: [login to view URL] If 'polite': if the entered day is one day later: [login to view URL] if the entered day is two days later: [login to view URL] if the entered day is three days later: [login to view URL] if the entered day is four days later: [login to view URL] if the entered day is five days later: [login to view URL] if the entered day is six days later: [login to view URL] if the entered day is seven days later: [login to view URL] if the entered day is > seven days later: [login to view URL] Clip 2: if priority = 'normal': [login to view URL] if priority = 'middle': [login to view URL] if priority = 'high': [login to view URL] Screen 5d: This one is displayed if the user clicks on 'more' on screen 5a. In this way the tool displays only the important information and hides the comments to the entries. If the user wants to read more about an entry he have to click on 'more'. Screen 5e: I think they are self describing. Screen 5f: This one comes up if the user clicks on 'save changes' on screen 5e. Video clip: 7a/[login to view URL] Screen 5g: This one comes up if the user clicks on 'del' on screen 5a and verified he chose in the following pop up (there is no screen from this pop up here, please just use the msgbox. Video clip: 8a/[login to view URL] Screen 6a: This is a similar strukture like screen 4a and 5a. The clip that should be played depends on the amount of already entered dates and the chosen communication style. If 'slang': if no date entered: [login to view URL] if one date entered: [login to view URL] if two date entered: [login to view URL] if three date entered: [login to view URL] if > three date entered: [login to view URL] If 'polite': if no date entered: [login to view URL] if one date entered: [login to view URL] if two date entered: [login to view URL] if three date entered: [login to view URL] if > three date entered: [login to view URL] Screen 6b: I think they are self describing. Screen 6c: The movie clip depends on the communication style and if the entered movie/film name ist known to the tool or not. Normally, if 'slang' then play 85.avi. If 'polite', then play [login to view URL] BUT: If the user enters one of the following strings into the text field for the movie name on screen 6b, then do not use [login to view URL] or 86.avi. Then please follow this rules: if 'slang' if the text field 'movie name' from screen 6b contains the string 'Simpsons' play clip [login to view URL] (capital or no capital letters do not make a difference) 'Tagesschau' play clip [login to view URL] 'Tagesthemen' play clip [login to view URL] 'Lotto' play clip [login to view URL] 'Geissen' play clip [login to view URL] 'schlechte Zeiten' play clip [login to view URL] 'gzsz' play clip [login to view URL] 'Superstar' play clip [login to view URL] 'dsds' play clip [login to view URL] 'Stern-TV' play clip [login to view URL] 'SternTV' play clip [login to view URL] 'Stern TV' play clip [login to view URL] 'Desperate Housewives' play clip [login to view URL] 'TVtotal' play clip [login to view URL] 'TV-total' play clip [login to view URL] 'TV total' play clip [login to view URL] 'Pokemon' play clip [login to view URL] 'Big Brother' play clip [login to view URL] 'Stargate' play clip [login to view URL] 'Startrek' play clip [login to view URL] 'Enterprise' play clip [login to view URL] 'King of Queens' play clip [login to view URL] 'schrecklich nette Familie' play clip [login to view URL] 'al bundy' play clip [login to view URL] 'Criminal Intent' play clip [login to view URL] if 'polite' if the text field 'movie name' from screen 6b contains the string 'Simpsons' play clip [login to view URL] (capital or no capital letters do not make a difference) 'Tagesschau' play clip [login to view URL] 'Tagesthemen' play clip [login to view URL] 'Lotto' play clip [login to view URL] 'Geissen' play clip [login to view URL] 'schlechte Zeiten' play clip [login to view URL] 'gzsz' play clip [login to view URL] 'Superstar' play clip [login to view URL] 'dsds' play clip [login to view URL] 'Stern-TV' play clip [login to view URL] 'SternTV' play clip [login to view URL] 'Stern TV' play clip [login to view URL] 'Desperate Housewives' play clip [login to view URL] 'TVtotal' play clip [login to view URL] 'TV-total' play clip [login to view URL] 'TV total' play clip [login to view URL] 'Pokemon' play clip [login to view URL] 'Big Brother' play clip [login to view URL] 'Stargate' play clip [login to view URL] 'Startrek' play clip [login to view URL] 'Enterprise' play clip [login to view URL] 'King of Queens' play clip [login to view URL] 'schrecklich nette Familie' play clip [login to view URL] 'al bundy' play clip [login to view URL] 'Criminal Intent' play clip [login to view URL] Screen 6d: I think they are self describing. Screen 6e: This one comes up if the user clicks on 'save changes' on screen 6d. Video clip: 7a/[login to view URL] Screen 6f: This one comes up if the user clicks on 'del' on screen 6a and verified he chose in the following pop up (there is no screen from this pop up here, please just use the msgbox. Video clip: 8a/[login to view URL] Screen 7a: Screens 7a, 7b and 7c imagine how the active alert windows should (about) look like. They should pop up to the arranged timepoints. Screen 7a is the alert for the dates, screen 7b is the alert for the jobs and screen 7c is the alert form for the TV scheduler. The screen 7a comes up to the timepoint that was selected in screen 4b (remembering plan). The clip that should be played depends on the communication style and the amount of days left to the timepoint of the date. If date is today: ((name)[login to view URL] or 26.avi...[login to view URL]) & ([login to view URL] or [login to view URL]) & hour(hour).avi & minute(minutes).avi & (city).avi & ([login to view URL] or [login to view URL]) If date is tomorrow: ((name)[login to view URL] or 26.avi...[login to view URL]) & ([login to view URL] or [login to view URL]) & hour(hour).avi & minute(minutes).avi & (city).avi & ([login to view URL] or [login to view URL]) If date is the day after tomorrow: ((name)[login to view URL] or 26.avi...[login to view URL]) & ([login to view URL] or [login to view URL]) & hour(hour).avi & minute(minutes).avi & (city).avi & ([login to view URL] or [login to view URL]) Example: (name)[login to view URL] & [login to view URL] & [login to view URL] & [login to view URL] & [login to view URL] & [login to view URL] Some comments to this: If it is the clip name with the 'a' or the 'b' depends on the style the user selected. If 'slang' then 'a', if 'polite' then 'b'. Do not implement the (minutes).avi if the number of minutes are 0, i.e. if the user entered the timepoint 10:00 Do only implement the (city).avi if the entered location is one of the cities in the attached file '[login to view URL]' The first clip (name)[login to view URL] is only played the first time this date alert window pops up a day. The first clip (name)[login to view URL] can only be played if the user chosed a first name on screen 1. I.E. if he chosed 'uwe', the clip name is '[login to view URL]'. The chance of (name)[login to view URL] should be 30%, so much higher than the chance of one of the clips [login to view URL] to 34.avi. But only if the user chosed a first name. [login to view URL] is only possible if the user chosed a male name. Male names are the first part in the attached file '[login to view URL]' [login to view URL] is only possible if the user chosed a female name. [login to view URL] is only possible if the actual time is > 19:00 and if the user chosed a female name and it should be played max once a day. Screen 7b: If there are more jobs to do on that actual day than can be displayed on the screen, please let them be scrollable. Jobs which are entered but later than on this day do do are only accessable through the month view control. I think the sense of the buttons is selfdescribing. The clip depends on the communication style, the amount of jobs that are to do on that day and if this alert comes up the first time or if it is a repeated alert because the user shifted the first alert. If first alert: If one job: (name)[login to view URL] & [login to view URL] or [login to view URL] If two job: (name)[login to view URL] & [login to view URL] or [login to view URL] If three job: (name)[login to view URL] & [login to view URL] or [login to view URL] If four job: (name)[login to view URL] & [login to view URL] or [login to view URL] If five job: (name)[login to view URL] & [login to view URL] or [login to view URL] If > five jobs: (name)[login to view URL] & [login to view URL] or [login to view URL] Some comments to this: If it is the clip name with the 'a' or the 'b' depends on the style the user selected.
