We are looking for multiple people who can join our remote work team to do Premium 3D digital artistry on full-body 3D scans of people.
The files will be delivered as .zip folders containing an .obj file, .mtl file, .jpg file. Once you complete the digital artistry on each 3D scan, you will upload it back to our servers as a .zip file with the same file composition.
There are no restrictions or special workflows that you need to follow. Feel free to use your own workflow to complete a Premium scan clean up. The only thing that we require is that you are capable of achieving the level of quality we require, and that you are submitting the files in the appropriate obj-mtl-jpg format. The model should be able to be quickly opened in a program like Meshlab for review.
Here is a list of things that normally need to be fixed in the 3D scans:
1. Removal of webbing between arms legs, and between bodies (sometimes our scans are 2-5 people rather than an individual)
2. Smoothing of the mesh to remove bumpy geometry
3. Reconstruction of missing body parts
4. Recreation of props and accessories such as eye glasses
5. Texture painting and editing to fix mistextures on top of heads and other areas
6. Adjust texture in photoshop such as editing hue, saturation, changing curve, etc.
You will also need to sculpt additional detail to bring the scan to premium quality:
1. Sculpt facial details for the eyes, nose, mouth, teeth, and ears as well as ears and fingers.
2. Sculpt believable mesh texture for the hair.
3. Recreate clothes folds and add any additional detail like pockets and buttons.
4. Rebuild and add detail to hats and props.
During the initial on boarding process we will give you a few test scans to complete. If you do a good job on them, we will add you as a member of our remote 3D digital artist team. Our remote 3D digital artist team is responsible for hundreds of 3D files that we have that need 3D digital artistry work.
As a member of our remote 3D digital artist team you will have flexible hours, but we will expect you to complete a minimum of at least few 3D scans per day.
Job Requirements
Ability to complete 15-20 3D scans per week
Experience with Pixologic Zbrush
Experience with Autodesk Mudbox, Substance Painter, or other 3D painting program
Experience with Autodesk Maya, Meshmixer, Meshlab, 3DS Max, Blender, or an equivalent program is a plus.
Access to the use of a graphics/drawing tablet or cintiq.
Bonus if you have experience working with 3D scans of people
Proficient in English
Attention to detail
Responsive and open to feedback and revisions

I've experience in the use of the 3d software Blender, in sculpting, low poly(retopology) and materials, and Zbrush for Sculpting. Also I have experience with UVmapping and I know Photoshop.

Hello!
I have always been very interested in working with 3D scans, so I would be delighted to do some tests for you. It would be a great opportunity to show you my quality level and delivery times. It will also be my chance to familiarize myself with the process of working on your team.
ZBrush is the main tool in my pipeline, so I have the most experience with it. I also know how to use Maya, Redshift, Substance Painter, Marmoset Toolbag and Photoshop. I have some complementary experience with Marvelous Designer and Blender as well.
Most of my commercial work involves 3D printing, so I'm comfortable with a hi-poly, high-detail workflow that keeps optimization and technical issues prevention in mind pertaining 3D printing. I am attentive to details and project specifications.

I have over 20 years industrial design experience and have been independently self employed now for 10 years. My design work has received both Red Dot, Braun Prize and Good Design awards and I was recently a jury member for the Australian Good Design awards. My greatest satisfaction is always generated by delivering beyond my clients expectation.
I believe I would be perfectly suited to this position. I have always been passionate about 3D scanning, 3D modelling and rapid prototyping.
In 2010 I developed a company working with plastic and cosmetic surgeons scanning patients and modifying the scan data to give both a 'before' and 'predictive' 3D digital and physical prototype model based on the surgeons procedural intent. This process relied heavily on the use of Zbrush and adobe suite

I was thrilled when I spotted your ad, because transferring real world objects into 3D assets with photogrammetry is a line of work I find very interesting and enjoyable from scanning itself to cleanup, sculpting and texturing missing or faulty parts. I am familiar with photoscanning software (Agisoft, Meshroom and PFtrack) and their underlying algorhytms. I have done a lot of photogrammetry during my time in 3D and am well aware of how much effort and fine tuning goes into bringing photoscans to production level 3D assets. I am proficient in ZBrush (cleanup and sculpting), substance painter (and substance designer) for texturing, and Houdini (which comes in handy for hair).
I also come from a background of painting and sculpture (BFA in painting, MFA in sculpture) so I have a precise understating of the human anatomy and sculpting as well (missing parts of the body, clothes or accessories dont pose a problem) . I know how to properly edit the textures so they look as realistic and human-like as possible. On the other hand I also know how to model and texture realistic clothing.
