Design a wireless network with the following requirements and desired features: • The Access points (AP) should be among those which offer the best possible performance with widest possible coverage. They should offer all standard features together with some advanced features suitable for a SOHO of about 60 employees. • Within next 10 months, the company will have two small branch offices. One will be situated 500 meters away, in the south of main office, with 8 employees. The other office with 12 employees will be 3 miles away, situated in the north east of the main office. As there is no wired line infrastructure on those two sites, the company would like to get three sites linked together wirelessly. They heard from media that the WiFi antenna could help solve the problem of linking multiple sites across large distances, and expected that a right type of high-gain WiFi antennas (of omni-directional, semi-directional; or highly-directional) could be well selected in your proposed design. • the manager heard PoE (Power over Ethernet) enabled the positioning of the AP anywhere on a site, even a place without a power source (e.g., roof or balcony) and thus might help improve the coverage area of WiFi signals. He was very keen on seeing the adoption of this technology in the wireless network to be deployed, but he was a little bit worried about any potential dangers possibly associated with this technology.
