This isn't a problem, it can be done very quickly. Possible change your table storage engine, up cacheing, run an analyzer that will tell us what's consuming your CPU and create your DB problems. I've been working with MySQL, MariaDB and Percona for long time, I'm sure we can get to the root of the issue.
