Need help with the "last mile" configuring, making work and setting up user accounts in HylaFax on Ubuntu. Or, if you have a distro you feel would be better, I am happy to install it. I would DMZ the server computer for you to log into via VNC. It is a Dell desktop with a U.S. Robotics Sportster 56k faxmodem (external, on COM1, which I understand is very compatible). Anyhow, if you know Linux (Ubutu or - again - another distro if you prefer), can use VNC to remote login and then work with me as needed to set up a Hylafax fax server including - Setting up 4 user accounts - Testing and making sure (sendmail?) or whatever is emailing out PDF's of received faxes, and that the computer is configured properly - Testing a few faxes with us and testing functionality - Making Hylafax run smoothly and reliably. (TECH DETAILS: To explain our office LAN setup, it's simply 5 computers connected to a Linksys router (running DD-WRT), which is then hooked to a static WAN IP and our email is a third-party host - we DO NOT host our own email in-house, that is run by HostGator. So part of this will be getting Hylafax to email the clients without having to be "the" mail server.) Mainly we just want to receive a fax and everyone gets a PDF of it. Simple as that. Outbound faxes will simply be a Windows Hylafax client - if you know any, all the better. I could use (but don't necessarily need) help with that too - don't let that stop you from bidding, if you don't know windows clients for Hylafax. ALRIGHT! That should explain the overall idea. I can't imagine much more needing to be done. Well, let us know if this is something you can help us make happen, and if so, what would your price be. We are flexible with times to work with you on this, to make sure you can log on and we can do any physical adjustments with the hardware you may need.
