I am a software architect writing a Java application, and I need some help with one small piece. I am trying to use Apache JCS ([login to view URL]) but the instructions are too hard too follow, and so I'm looking for someone to help me by creating a demonstration project ready-to-run that shows me how to use JCS. I want to use JCS specifically as a JSR-107 cache under control of the Spring Cache Abstraction and @Cacheable annotation. I want the cache configured to use a JDBC endpoint (in-memory H2 database) as the backing store. As a very specific requirement, the JDBC settings must be specified in a Spring XML configuration file. For testing you may use a simple function like {int square(x){return x*x;}} to which you add the @Cacheable abstraction to make it cache the return values. The requirement for this project is delivery of a working ready-to-run Java/Maven project. When I type "mvn clean install" the code should compile and when I type "mvn test" it should execute some Unit Tests that show the caching in action. Evidence of testing (in the form of screenshots or output logs from "mvn test") must be submitted with the code. For this tiny demo project with no business requirements and no business functionality, the budget is $10.
