GeoRaptor 4.1

I am dev lead on the GeoRaptor Open Source project that is hosted on SourceForge.

GeoRaptor is a Spatial visualisation and management system that runs within Oracle's SQL Developer 3.2 (free, not open). It interacts with the host application via an extension API.

The problem is that Oracle has changed the extension API for SQL Developer 4.x. That API is based on the OSGi framework.

I have made some attempts to port GeoRaptor from SQL Developer 3.2 to 4.1 but I cannot complete it due to heavy work loads and inexperience in working with the new extension framework.

What I am after is an "empty" extension that provides the following and works within SQL Developer 4.x. I will then extend that extension filling it in with the code that implements the existing functionality.

In particular I am after a working extension that implements the following:

1.a Define a Menu within the View Menu Pillar: this menu has 4 Active SubMenus

1b. A Toolbar button

2. Command/Controller classes for 1 a and 1 b including Java class that displays a message per subMenu execution (eg jOptionPane showing message dialog eg "SubMenu X executed. Press ok to continue.)

3. Context menus for connection nodes eg table, view with executable code to display menu.

4. A preference menu executed by selecting Tools>Preferences>GeoRaptor

6. How to create context menus for ResultSets after execution of ad hoc SQL in a SQL Worksheet.

is a working extension that shows how to do the following:

1. Define menu+sub-menu with multiple entries.

1b. Toolbar button not just menu.

2. Command/Controller classes for 1 including Java class that executes something - say create a JOptionPane show message dialog (eg "submenu X executed. Press ok to continue.

3. Context menus for connection nodes eg table, view with executable code to display menu.

4. How to add ones own preferences to Tools>Preferences

6. How to create context menus for resultset after execution of ad hoc SQL in worksheet.

7. Snippets.

Details to be worked out before work commences.

Note: I will not award this project to anyone who does not have experience with writing OSGi extensions for SQL Developer or closely related technology.
