We are seeking an experienced developer who can build a custom photogrammetry software that is capable of taking thousands of raw images and "stitching" them together into a seamless photo-mosaic map.  We use UAVs with various camera sensors that take images over land as they fly. These images are embedded with GPS coordinates. There can be thousands of images for a single flight. These images need to be analyzed by the software and then stitched together into a final product. The two outputs we seek are an RGB (natural color) photomap which just relies on a standard camera, and a Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) map which relies on both an RGB camera and a special NIR camera. In the case of NDVI, the software blends the two images (RGB+NIR) to build an NDVI product. We are using several similar software programs currently but we are finding that the processing time is extremely long and our clients demand that we deliver our products much faster, thus we seek to develop a custom solution. As mentioned in the Project Description since its taking very long time GPGPU methods can be used something like NVIDIA CUDA for faster image processing, and image stitching can be done using some native methods in opencv.

Recently, I have finished a Master’s degree in Electronics and Computer system and I have done various embedded system projects and computer vision application using C++ and openCV for object tracking by UAV. 2D and 3D data capture experts. This bid is for the NDVI processing ONLY. This company deals with multi-spectral data on a day to day basis. We have several ways at arriving at NDVI inlcuding custom Python code, Mathematica, MATLAB and Photoshop scripts. We can always recode Python to C to exhance performance. Point to note: you are unlikely to get custom stitching software that will run any faster than the best commercial packages. We can help you choose AT AN EXTRA COST, but suggest you first check that your platform has lots of RAM (8 GB+), fast disksm and the software is properly configured to use both.
